Digital packages purchase
Redesigning the bundles customisation page to increase sales as well as brand trust for a UK wide telecom company.

1. Understanding the project
The project was to redesign the bundle builder page for a leading UK telco brand that would allow users to configure the packages they order online (desktop and mobile).
1. Read the marketing department studies had done about the page and the users.
2. Benchmarked similar platforms and pages.
3. Used the page extensively to understand how it worked and what was necessary to change.

2. Sketching out some ideas
Because there wasn’t much time for this project, it was very important to start sketching ideas and solutions early on in order to put them in Axure as clickable prototypes which we could then show users to amend later.

3. Making ideas usable
There were 2 prototypes - one for desktop and one for mobile.
Because there was a lot of content, the two experiences had to be separated to check how they functioned on their own.
The mobile website was more challenging: even if users are accustomed to scrolling a lot, this was a very lengthy page. We tried to categorise, group and pack as much information as possible without loosing readability.

4. Usability testing
I was looking for answers to these questions during remote usability tests.
The phrasing had to be refined over the sessions and there were some Axure bugs to fix at the beginning.
Users understood most of the navigating mechanisms for the mobile experience but some of the wording was off.

5. Iterations and UI design
There was a new usability test conducted with the new design and the results were very positive, albeit a few glitches in the IA.
The UI designer finalised his designs and we delivered the project to the dev team.
